We had dinner at Aleia on Friday night...Let's try that again. We had a fine dining experience at Aleia on friday night. There is something exquisite and sophisticated about the place which mixes food with art. It is in a beatiful converted mansion in Waterkloof with stunning panoramas above Pretoria, well worth a visit in the late summer for the views alone.
The fine food is one thing but it is the company that makes the evening. I did learn something about anaesthetists that evening : wine pairing and anaesthetist make for an entertaining evening, complete with questionable behaviour.

They take their food and their art seriously. They are not cheap : R1000 per person is what we paid the last time we were there. But the experience is memorable and well worth it.
