20th September (Friday)

Happy weekend to everyone on and off this weekend!

We would like to proudly announce that on this coming Friday, September 20th, we will be having a Heritage Day Breakfast Celebration during our morning meeting. This is a wonderful opportunity for our department to come together and celebrate the diverse cultures that we have here.

Heritage Day is a significant occasion in our country, celebrated by the cherished tradition of "braaing" with friends and family to enjoy delicious food and amazing company. Notably, "Braai Day" has transcended racial and cultural boundaries, becoming a unifying activity that fosters a sense of national pride and unity. Beyond braaing, us as South Africans also engage in cultural festivals, don traditional attire, and share/contribute to a spirit of inclusivity and mutual respect.

Heritage Day serves as more than a mere commemoration of the past. It represents an ongoing call to embrace cultural diversity as a vital strength that enriches the social fabric of South Africa. By honoring our individual and collective heritage, we collectively work towards building a future grounded in inclusivity, understanding, and mutual respect.

We kindly request that each of us bring a dish that represents their family traditions or cultural background. This potluck-style event will allow us to share and learn from one another, fostering a more welcoming and inclusive workplace.

Let us make this a memorable day where we can engage in meaningful conversations, share stories, and strengthen the bonds that make our workplace such a remarkable place. Your presence is highly valued, and we look forward to seeing you there!
