Meet the NEW Dr Mphahlele ..

Meet the NEW Dr Mphahlele ..

Looks like our anaesthesia team just got a shot in the arm with Dr Mpahlele joining us .. (just got told by Dr Wong, that Dr Mpahlele is 1/3 of a triplet set !!! wow !!! now thats cool)

(I know this post is very delayed, I was too busy living my best life on a beach getting sunburnt to remember I have a job, but my credit card bill was a stark reminder and so here I am)

anyway back to our new Reg !! Welcome to the team.. we are so glad to have you and hope your journey with us will be memorable .. in the brief few minutes we met today, I just know you’ll be perfect at Steve !! you give off such great energy that even doing an ortho list on a Friday seems less daunting ..

but enough from me .. let’s get to know the new Doctor better ..

My full Name is Mafori Lehlogonolo Mphahlele

I grew up in Pretoria. Went to CBC Pretoria.

My drink of choice is a gin and tonic

If I could travel anywhere in the world it would be the UK. I love football and I'd love to watch a few games live and feel the atmosphere of the stadiums.

Favorite book: Daily Stoic by Ryan Holiday. Favorite movie: Christopher Nolan's batman triology (I know it's more than one😅)

One piece of advise is to always be humble. Complications happen to the very best. And to always be open to learning more and more.

Adventurous things I've done: Bungee humping in oribi gorge, kzn

Dinner with Jordan Peterson and Malcolm X

I have registered to vote but I moved fromm Pietermaritzburg so I have to change my voting station to Pretoria.

I chose anaesthesia because I like the interplay between technology and human interaction. Also the controlled nature of our field, you can focus on providing the best care to that patient.

my initial thoughts of life at Steve ..... It's Rocky start, it does take time to adjust to the system this side so hopefully it gets better 🤞🏽💪🏽

BIG thank you to Dr Mphahlele for sharing a little piece of himself with us! looking forward to working with you and watching you grow. I have no doubt you will touch many lives and inspire so many, with your easy to get along with attitude and willingness to teach and share your experiences.
