If you are looking for somewhere stylish to dine out Prosopo is a good choice. I was there recently for wine tasting and it was a wonderful experience. The wine was from Iona and each of the 7 portions were paired with a wine from Iona. We were educated by the representative from the estate about each wine as well as the food pairing. It was all very sophistacated. I remain somewhat sceptical about their Pinot and desert wine however. Next time i'm in western Europe....um ...I mean the Western Cape I am sure to visit the Elgin region where Iona is located.
There was a sobering plea in behalf of the Sourh African wine industry to keep buying local wines as currently on a fraction of winemakers are able to stay viable and many are forced to exit the industry. So there you bow have a good excuse to buy some wine.
