“Class reps can be really proud of themselves, they organized a wonderful event” - Dr Petri aka the switchboard

Welcome back, everyone! We hope you all had a restful weekend. On Saturday, we hosted our end-of-year event, and what a spectacular night it was! It was so wonderful to see everyone out of the work environment, letting loose, and celebrating the camaraderie and greatness of being anaesthetists.

The menu 🥵

The evening began with a delicious menu that had something for everyone, and the awards ceremony was a true highlight. Textbooks and iPads were handed out as prizes, and the room was filled with laughter and cheers. The drinks were flowing, the music was lively, and the energy was unmatched. The photo booth stole the show, with everyone jumping in to capture fun, silly, and heartwarming moments with colleagues.

Thursday

In the spirit of the holiday season, we’d like to share a heartwarming update from the Vatican. Over the weekend, Pope Francis unveiled this year’s nativity scene, created by Palestinian artists from Bethlehem. The scene featured Baby Jesus wrapped in a Palestinian keffiyeh, a symbol of Middle Eastern heritage and resilience.

The nativity included figures of the Holy Family carved from olive wood, and the Bethlehem Star was inscribed in Latin and Arabic with the words: “Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, goodwill to all people.” This collaboration served as a powerful reminder of hope and peace, not only for the holiday season but for the world.

Pope Francis also led a Mass for Peace, calling for an end to war and violence and reminding us of the true meaning of Christmas: unity, compassion, and love for all.

Friday

It’s a long weekend, everyone! Take this time to recharge, spend it with your family and friends, and enjoy the festive spirit. Look out for updates on the group about any academic sessions. Most importantly, stay safe and make the most of the well-deserved break.
