Monday: Welcome to December! š
Happy December, team! The final push of 2024 is here. Can you believe itās already December? Hectic! I hope everyone has their Christmas shopping lists ready and is humming their favourite carols in their heads šš¼
Weāre celebrating three birthdays this weekāmore on that in the days ahead. š
On a personal note, I want to share some news: December will be my last month at Steve Biko. You know Iāve always been transparent and vulnerable with you all via this platform, and this is no exception. Iām hoping one of you will step up to assist Jeremy with the newsletter next year. š Letās make this last month together an amazing one!
Tuesday: Healing Your Inner Child Recently, I took some time off and, letās be honest, maxed out my credit card (feeling guilty about it, but hey!). It got me thinking about the importance of doing things that make your inner child happy.
For those of us without kids yet, life can feel like youāre still a kid yourselfābut with adult responsibilities. Sometimes, we forget to stop and appreciate the little things. I had the chance to visit Disneyland, a place Iāve always dreamt of. Youād think it wouldnāt be exciting as an adult, but let me tell youāit was magical. The firework show had me bawling, and I sang along to songs I grew up on. It healed a part of me I didnāt even realise needed healing.
I encourage you all to do something that brings out your inner childāwhether itās watching an animated movie, treating yourself to something small, or checking off a childhood dream. After all, we have credit cards and free will!
